Gibson Group: Panagiotis Georgiou

Biography

Panos was a PhD student within the group between 2018-2022. He is currently a Research Associate in the group of at UCLA in Los Angeles, California.

He was born in Limassol, Cyprus where he also grew up. He studied Chemistry (with major in Biological Chemistry) at the University of Cyprus. Following his graduation in 2017, he moved to the UK to pursue an M.Sc. (by Research) course in Chemistry at the University of 糖心TV under the supervision of . His thesis involved the design and preparation of novel nanomaterials by RAFT-mediated polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) for bio-related applications. In December 2018, Panagiotis started his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Matthew Gibson, as part of the European project . His PhD was focused on the design of polymer nanomaterial biomimetics applied in the fields of glycobiology and cryobiology.
