Green Economy Transition
There is substantial interest across industry and policy sectors in seizing the opportunities presented by the transition to a green economy – one that supports sustainable development while addressing the limitations of traditional economic growth models. Achieving growth that simultaneously reduces economic inequality and addresses the climate crisis is a key priority for the UK Government and devolved administrations, all of which have legal obligations to consider the long-term impacts of their decisions while tackling urgent issues such as poverty, climate change, and health inequality. Although the green economy has long been a prominent theoretical concept, practical mechanisms for implementing systemic change remain limited. This event presents findings from the Complexity Appropriate Participatory Techniques Utilised for Reimagining Energy Policy Design (CAPTURED) Policy Support Fund project and features contributions from experts working on green economy, the net zero transition, and decarbonisation. Together, we will explore the latest methodological and research insights into analysing and enabling pathways toward a green economy transition in the UK and beyond.
