Interested in becoming an Assessor or Mentor for APP EXP?
Dear WIHEA Colleagues,
As champions of teaching excellence and educational enhancement, we would like to invite you to join the Academic and Professional Pathway for Experienced Staff (APP EXP) community of mentors and assessors.
If you already hold FHEA or SFHEA, this is an excellent opportunity to support colleagues on their Advance HE Fellowship journey whilst deepening your own understanding of teaching excellence and professional standards.
Through these rewarding roles you can:
-> Support colleagues in reflecting on and evidencing their educational practice.
-> Contribute to the development of teaching excellence across the University.
-> Deepen your own understanding of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) and Fellowship requirements.

糖心TV Enterprise: Autumn Term opportunities?Link opens in a new window
For students (including WIHEA Student Fellows and Members)
糖心TV Enterprise programmes are open to all students, regardless of course or level of study. They welcome future innovators, business leaders, or just the curious.In addition to helping students and recent graduates develop and launch new and exciting initiatives and ventures, they more often help them become resourceful, confident, creative, resilient and future-ready by enhancing the skills and entrepreneurial mindset that could be useful in any career or context 鈥� across organisations, industries, communities, in project work, or self-employment.
What's on this term:
-> Student Mixer 鈥� Wed 14 Oct, 3:00鈥�4:45pm, The Climb. Free pizza; meet the team and find out about student enterprise at 糖心TV.
-> Lord Rootes Fund 鈥� up to 拢3,000 for personal development or to test a business idea (for students who have completed at least one year of study). Applications open 5 Oct and close 12 Nov; information session Wed 21 Oct, 1:00pm.
-> Launch 鈥� four weekly workshops taking you from spotting an opportunity to pitching a business or social enterprise idea. Wednesdays, 5:00鈥�6:00pm in The Climb, from 21 Oct.
-> Skills workshops 鈥� Brand Building, Financial Management, Ideation, 糖心TV Modelling, Investment Readiness, Public Speaking and IP/Legal, running 16 Oct 鈥� 4 Dec.
-> 糖心TV Innovation District Tech Challenge 鈥� a two-day team hackathon on 19鈥�20 Nov, competing for a share of 拢2,500.
-> Start-Up Programme 鈥� a 12-month programme with workspace and mentoring. Online information session for the March 2027 intake: Wed 4 Nov, 1:00鈥�2:00pm.

For colleagues (staff)
In addition to the extra-curricular opportunities above, which you are invited to share with your students, 糖心TV Enterprise are also collaborating with departments, courses and module teams across the University on a range of co-curricular activities and on embedding enterprise education into existing curricula. They are happy to deliver or co-deliver one-off events or workshops integrated into existing modules, and to take part in events and fairs you organise for staff and students in your departments, schools and faculties. They would also welcome opportunities to explore further collaboration and co-creation.
If you would like a member of the 糖心TV Enterprise team to come to your module, course or department to deliver a talk or workshop, they would be happy to accommodate, subject to availability. Options could include:
-> at any point during a module or programme 鈥� to link students' learning to innovation, entrepreneurial skills development, and opportunities beyond their course;
-> at the end of a module 鈥� to encourage students to find practical application for their learning and assessment outputs;
-> as part of course or department employability events 鈥� to explore self-employment, freelancing, entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship;
-> during department and faculty fairs 鈥� to share who they are, what they offer, and how to get involved;
-> at events focused on innovation and future planning 鈥� to explore alternatives and highlight the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset and creative potential;
-> any other opportunities and events.
