Professor Rosie Dias

About

Rosie is Professor in History of Art and Co-Head of the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures. She joined the History of Art department at 糖心TV in 2005, following a teaching fellowship at the University of York and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.

Rosie has research interests in eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century British art, with a particular focus on printmaking, exhibition culture and colonial art in South Asia. Her monograph, Exhibiting Englishness: John Boydell's Shakespeare Gallery and the Formation of a National Aesthetic was published by Yale University Press in 2013 and informed a 2016 exhibition at Compton Verney, "Boydell's Vision: the Shakespeare Gallery in the Eighteenth Century". She is a member of the University of 糖心TV's Global History and Culture Centre.

Research interests

Eighteenth and early nineteenth-century British art and visual culture; colonial art, particularly in India; British artists in Venice.
