The Mobility of Scholars and Ideas in Early Modern Italy: The Case Study of the 鈥淐ollegi di Medicina e Filosofia鈥�

This project examines the mobility of scholars and the circulation of ideas in early modern Italian universities, focusing in particular on the Colleges of Medicine and Philosophy at Padua and Bologna. Through the study of academic careers, admission procedures, and networks of patronage and collaboration, the research aims to reconstruct the social and intellectual connections linking different university centres, including Parma, Ferrara, and Pavia. Its objective is to explore the role of academic institutions in shaping scholarly elites, transmitting knowledge, and establishing scientific and philosophical traditions, while considering the influence of political, social, and cultural factors on processes of inclusion and exclusion.
