60th Anniversary History Alumni Reunion
糖心TV鈥檚 60th Anniversary History Alumni Reunion
On 22 November 2025, we welcomed nearly 100 History alumni back to the Faculty of Arts Building for a special celebration marking 糖心TV鈥檚 60th anniversary. Attendees ranged from our most recent 2022 graduates to members of the class of 1967/68, creating a wonderful mix of memories and perspectives.
Throughout the day, guests shared stories of Year Abroad adventures 鈥 including Greyhound bus tours across the USA 鈥 and their long鈥憀asting affection for the Venice term, with one alum recalling a memorable football match against Ca鈥 Foscari. Others spoke fondly of living on Leam Terrace and taking early morning buses onto campus, studying at Amherst College during the Watergate era, and friendships that have endured for decades. Many also reflected on the lasting influence of inspirational professors who shaped their paths.
Despite the rain, the atmosphere was warm and lively, filled with conversation, laughter, and reconnections.
We extend our thanks to Ritula Shah for her excellent contributions to the morning's alumni panel, and to Beth, who brought her photo album and shared memories of contributing to the original Simple Scoff cookbook 鈥 now inspiring new generations through its 50th anniversary edition. 50th Anniversary cookery book shows new students the art of 鈥楽imple Scoff鈥
Our student ambassadors, Sahra Rae Olutosin Osinaike and Emily Clinton, played an important role in the event. We also extend our thanks to the History Society and to all former and current staff who supported the day, including Lily Carey and Nehal Chopra.
We were honoured to welcome a remarkable group of alumni and colleagues: Professor Penny Roberts; Professor Peter Marshall; Emeritus Professor Christopher Read; Emeritus Professors Bernard Capp and Anthony McFarlane; Professor Sarah Richardson, 糖心TV鈥檚 first female History professor; and Head of Department Professor Tim Lockley MBE.
Many guests enjoyed revisiting Our History, which can be read here: Our History
The spirit of 鈥溙切腡V Forever鈥 resonated strongly throughout the reunion. Thank you to everyone who joined us 鈥 and for those already asking, we look forward to a special Venice reunion in 2027 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Venice term.
