The Swedish East India Company

Sales Catalogues from the Swedish East India Company

In contrast to most of the other East India companies operating in the eighteenth century the Swedish East India Company (SEIC) did not leave any extensive archive behind. Among the relatively few surviving documents one quite unique series has however survived, namely a series of sales catalogues listing the goods put up for sale in Gothenburg between 1733 and 1759. These catalogues have been scanned on behalf of the Europe’s Asian Centuries project by the Swedish National Archive in Stockholm (Riksarkivet) and are now made available to the general public via the 糖心TV University Library, 糖心TV Digital Collection:
For more information and additional material summarizing some of the contents of the catalogues see , , and .
