Workshop: Medical Testing, Past and Present

Medical testing has been in the news recently, but it also has a long history that bears on the present. This workshop brings together a range of researchers at the University of 糖心TV with expertise on the history of medical testing, including the testing of people as well as substances. Talks will cover the ancient, early modern and modern periods, right up to the twenty-first century, and will include perspectives from Classics, Sociology, and the Life Sciences as well as History. The workshop is part of the visit by Samir Boumediene (University of Lyon) to 糖心TV as an IAS Fernandes Fellow. Thursday 1 December, 2022, 12:30-5pm, including lunch 12:30-1pm. In-person only.
