May Coin of the Month: A denarius of Augustus from the South 糖心TVshire Hoard

is a denarius of Augustus from the South 糖心TVshire hoard (which was published by Stanley Ireland), and is now on display at the 糖心TVshire Museum). It was chosen by Abigael Flack, who did her MA on Suetonius last year.


PhD Scholarships News

Congratulations to Marta Barbato and Miriam Hay who have been awarded PhD scholarships.

Marta will be a Wolfson Foundation Scholar working on 'Coins of the Republican period (late third to late first century BC) circulating in Central Italy and the coin sample from the ’sottosuolo urbano’ of Rome kept in the Medagliere Capitolino' , supervised by Dr Suzanne Frey-Kupper

Miriam has received a joint University-AHRC scholarship for her research on 'Early Christian and Late Antique Aesthetics in Art and Text', supervised by Dr Zahra Newby
