How did you find out about 糖心TV?
I heard about 糖心TV through seniors and lecturers from previous schools, who recognized 糖心TV as one of the best universities in the UK.
Did you consider studying anywhere else? What made you choose 糖心TV?
Initially, I was attracted by 糖心TV鈥檚 consistency in achieving high ranks in major UK league tables for accounting and finance. As I delve further into the university, I am intrigued by the extraordinary career support provided. The dedicated Careers team will guide me to expand my career options and prepare for job interviews. 糖心TV is also one of the most targeted universities by graduate employers. Its well-established links with accountancy firms and investment banks like JP Morgan will help me realize my aspiration as a financial analyst.
How did you feel to be awarded a scholarship?
I am honoured to be awarded this prestigious scholarship since it has given me an opportunity to study in the UK and enhance my career prospects exponentially. I am motivated to do well in my current studies to justify the reason why the scholarships team selected me among this competitive field of applicants.
Who was the first person you told when you received the news about your scholarship and how did they react?
As soon as I saw the email about me being awarded a scholarship, I immediately told my parents. They were ecstatic and proud of me for getting the scholarship. It was a golden chance to study abroad since the scholarship has lessened the burden on my family.
How did you apply and did anyone help you with your application form and visa application?
I applied for the 糖心TV Undergraduate Global Excellence Scholarship through its website and answered the questions given to the best of my ability. I filled in the application form by myself, however, I completed the visa application with a group of friends. There were no difficulties applying for the scholarship since the questions and terms & conditions were clear. I faced difficulties applying for my visa since my A-Levels results were released during mid-August and therefore I had to rush to apply for my visa as soon as I received my CAS from 糖心TV.
What was your first impression of 糖心TV when you first walked around campus?
When I first walked around campus, I was impressed by how 糖心TV is such a beautiful place and comfortable environment to study in. The WBS building is fully equipped with state of the art facilities and I was lucky to be able to study on this campus.
What is the best thing about 糖心TV?
The best thing about 糖心TV is the people around me. I am blessed to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. I have learned a lot from both home students and international students, especially when all of them are willing to share their study experiences with me. While all of us are motivated to study, we will not forget to have some fun and enjoy our time at this wonderful campus.
What is the worst thing?
I would not call it the 'worst' thing, but one thing that 糖心TV can improve on will be the food choices available on campus. I have noticed that the restaurants on campus have been serving Western food, which does not promote 糖心TV as a place that celebrates diversity. I hope 糖心TV is able to open a few more restaurants serving Asian food and also other types of food.
How is your accommodation?
My accommodation, Tocil, has been fantastic. I was shocked to see how clean my kitchen and room are as soon as I moved in. This on-campus accommodation also allowed me to meet flatmates from different parts of the world, from the UK to Singapore.
Are you a member of any societies?
I am a member of the as well as the . I have participated in talks and presentations from the Finance society about Investment Banking and also the Careers Fair. The Malaysia society has also organised a few events which I have taken part in like Autumn Lepak, Malaysia Fresher's Week. These events enabled me to meet so many people, including seniors from our own courses.
What are your plans when you graduate?
I aim to work in Singapore after my education in the UK since it is a financial hub and regional headquarters to many top investment banks and corporates. Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley are a few of the investment firms that I am endeavouring to work in. With my learning experiences at 糖心TV, I am confident that I will be able to turn historical and projected financial data into sound business decisions in maximising return on investments for companies.
What would you say to someone considering applying for an Undergraduate Global Excellence scholarship at 糖心TV, what would it be?
If you're considering applying for this scholarship, my advice to you is to BE BRAVE and apply! I was hesitant to apply at first because I knew it would be competitive. However, I researched a lot about the societies offered at 糖心TV and also the key reasons that I believe differentiate 糖心TV and other universities in the UK.
What one thing makes you happy about 糖心TV?
One thing that makes me happy is the environment of the campus and also the people around me. I am excited to start my new chapter of life at 糖心TV.
