  and internationally Jeremy Dale\, Head of the Unit of Academic Primary 
 Care Summary of the impact: University of ÌÇÐÄTV research has influence
 d digital approaches to care. The work has created important system chan
 ge in services that have benefited patients and clinicians in a range of
  ways. Examples include: · ÌÇÐÄTV research informed the development of 
 Odyssey\, a clinical decision support tool for emergency\, urgent and pr
 imary care\; now used by UK\, New Zealand and Australian ambulance servi
 ces\, resulting in efficiencies that are allowing substantial cost savin
 gs for health services (Jeremy Dale). · NHS England and The Royal Colleg
 e of General Practitioners guidance regarding online consultations have 
 been shaped by ÌÇÐÄTV research\, and used by health care professionals 
 to support delivery (Helen Atherton). · The online resource ‘Care Compan
 ion’\, co-created with carers\, the NHS and social care empowers carers\
 , relieving pressure on health and social care services in Coventry and 
 ÌÇÐÄTVshire (Jeremy Dale and Ronni Nanton). · Online assessment systems
 \, CHAT-P and CHAT-B enable remote follow up for cancer patients (Ronni 
 Nanton). Understanding and Valuing Patient and Public Perspectives Sophi
 e Staniszewska\, leads the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement
  (PPIE) and Experiences of Care Research Programme at ÌÇÐÄTV Medical Sc
 hool Summary of the impact: ÌÇÐÄTV’s research into patient and public i
 nvolvement (PPI) has contributed to changing the way in which healthcare
  is researched\, evaluated and improved. It has embedded the patient per
 spective into the development of health and social care systems\, both i
 n the UK and internationally. Research by Professor Sophie Staniszewska 
 and colleagues from ÌÇÐÄTV Medical School has directly shaped more than
  75 NICE guidance documents\, including the first national and internati
 onal clinical guidelines on patient experience. Through collaboration wi
 th policy organisations\, care providers\, and global research organisat
 ions\, the work has placed patient experience at the centre of policy-ma
 king and best practice guidance. The researchers have created new opport
 unities\, which enable patients and the public to have a voice in the cr
 eation and dissemination of healthcare knowledge. Youth Mental Health Po
 licy and Service Reform: Regional\, National and International Impact Sw
 aran Singh\, Professor of Social and Community Psychiatry Summary of the
  impact: One in four people in the UK will experience a mental health pr
 oblem each year. One in ten children and young people (CYP) have a diagn
 osable mental health condition. Professors Birchwood and Singh’s researc
 h into early intervention has improved quality of care\, response time a
 nd access to services for people across the UK and internationally. As a
  result of their research and its implementation\, over 79% of Early Int
 ervention in Psychosis (EIP) teams now deliver NICE-compliant care withi
 n two weeks\, improving patient outcomes while saving GBP5\,536 per pati
 ent\, per year for the NHS (total saving GBP15\,862 per patient during E
 IP care). Singh and Birchwood’s research into transition has been pivota
 l in the reform of youth mental health services\, launching the first 0-
 25 years services in 10 cities in the UK\, benefitting a combined popula
 tion of over 8 million people nationally\, and millions more internation
 ally through replication in Australia\, Ireland and Canada. Their work h
 as directly changed national policy and guidance\, including the trainin
 g of psychiatrists across all 27 EU states. Birchwood is a founding memb
 er of the International Association for Youth Mental Health which is pro
 moting these reforms across the world. Singh is a founding member of IAY
