 cancies become available on STFC's advisory bodies and peer review panel
 s. These bodies perform a vital function for STFC\, providing advice and
  guidance that aids our strategic direction and supports our decision-ma
 king processes. Members of our advisory bodies and panels have the oppor
 tunity to influence STFC’s strategy\, policies\, and funding decisions\,
  as well as guiding STFC to most effectively develop the societal impact
  of our investments and best support our research and innovation communi
 ties. Members will also expand their professional networks and explore a
  wide range of challenges related to investment in UK science and engine
 ering. We are committed to a policy of equal opportunities\, in line wit
 h our diversity and inclusion strategy. As part of our commitment to inc
 reasing our diversity of panel membership\, we aspire to improve the gen
 der balance of our panels to at least 30%\, or more\, of female membersh
 ip. Therefore\, applications from women\, those with a disability\, or m
 embers of minority ethnic groups are especially welcome. We are also hig
 hlighting the opportunity for early career candidates to apply to fill c
 ertain vacancies. This has been clearly indicated in the text for specif
 ic panels. We believe this will further help us improve the diversity of
  membership. As general guidance\, an early career researcher will have 
 completed their highest level of academic qualification within the last 
 ten years (not including any career breaks). STFC is committed to the pr
 inciples of fair and transparent decision-making. Appointments to our bo
 ards\, committees and panels will be assessed via an appropriate review 
 process\, according to the requirements listed by each programme area th
 at focus on an applicant’s qualifications\, skills\, experiences\, behav
 iours\, and personal characteristics. We are seeking applications from a
 cademic\, industrial and ‘third sector’ communities relevant to STFC’s g
 rant programmes\, and from the communities supported by STFC facilities.
  Submissions from scientists who are STFC employees are also welcome. Ir
 respective of career stage\, members of STFC advisory panels and peer re
 view bodies are expected to have in-depth knowledge of their disciplinar
 y remits\, a clear track record of achievement\, and a good understandin
 g of the wider UK and international context in their field. This is an a
 nnual call and\, as a result\, membership may commence at different time
 s. For all committees\, members will be appointed for three years unless
  otherwise stated. Please note\, you can make a self-application or can
