 lan Turing Institute\, UK Research and Innovation and the Office for AI 
 invite applications for their AI fellowships. These encourage world-lead
 ing AI researchers to build and consolidate significant research activit
 y and profile within the UK and accelerate the careers of mid-career AI 
 researchers enabling them to grow their profile both nationally and inte
 rnationally\, build their research teams and extend their research colla
 borations. The initiative covers a broad view of AI\, including applicat
 ions of foundational disciplines across mathematical sciences\, statisti
 cal sciences\, computational sciences and engineering. Fellows are expec
 ted to collaborate as appropriate across disciplines to ensure positive 
 outcomes for UK society. Consideration may also be given to AI work that
  interfaces with the life sciences\, social sciences or humanities. The 
 objectives are to: •build UK leadership capacity and capability in AI re
 search by attracting\, retaining and developing world-leading AI researc
 h talent in the UK\; •accelerate the delivery of impact from UK AI resea
 rch through the facilitation of effective collaboration between leading 
 AI researchers and both industrial colleagues and researchers in other d
 isciplines\; •invest in leading researchers who will become effective le
 aders in the AI landscape and advocates of AI research through active en
 gagement with policy-makers and the public. The following types of award
 s are available: Turing senior AI fellowships are prestigious appointmen
 ts for existing leaders in the field and applicants should already be de
 monstrating leadership equivalent to a full professorial position\; Turi
 ng AI fellowships are aimed at established mid-career researchers with r
 ecognised leadership potential. Fellows must be hosted by a UK HEI\, ind
 ependent research organisation\, NHS body and other research institute. 
 They may collaborate with partners from industry\, the public sector or 
 the charitable sector. The total budget is up to £8.5 million\, to fund 
 three to five fellowships for up to five years. The fellowship covers sa
 lary\, research costs and other related activities.
