DESCRIPTION:Join us for our inaugural bilingual intercultural awareness w
 orkshop as we celebrate Languages Week. This interactive workshop will b
 e delivered in a mix of Mandarin and English and explores cultural influ
 ences\, attitudes and behaviours\, and includes a variety of intercultur
 al activities and discussions. The workshop will be pitched at intermedi
 ate-level Mandarin speakers and above – both native speakers and languag
 e learners are encouraged to attend! 到时见！ You may find this workshop esp
 ecially useful if you are seeking to understand\, communicate and build 
 effective relationships with those from different cultural backgrounds. 
 No previous experience or knowledge is required. The workshop leads onto
  some short supporting online modules and reflective activities that giv
 e you the opportunity to build your intercultural knowledge and reflect 
 on your learning and experiences\, followed by a second workshop which l
 ooks at Intercultural Competence in more detail and how it can be harnes
 sed for your future employability. Upon completion of the whole programm
 e\, you'll be entitled to claim a certificate (if you're a postgraduate 
 student) or for remarks to be added to your transcript/HEAR if you're an
  undergraduate student. Attendance at this workshop will also contribute
  1 point towards the 糖心TV Award. If you have any queries about this w
 orkshop\, please use our contact form. Other information: The Intercultu
 ral Training Programme is delivered by the Student Internationalisation 
 Team in Student Opportunity\, in partnership with the Department of Appl
 ied Linguistics\, with content being devised by leading 糖心TV academic
 s in the field of Intercultural Communication. All our sessions include 
 an element of group or peer to peer work. You are encouraged to ask ques
 tions and contribute throughout the session\, or to speak privately to t
 he tutor at the end. We welcome students with visible and non-visible di
 sabilities\, specific learning differences\, or other complex needs\, in
  all of our workshops. Teaching rooms have lift access. We encourage you
  to get in touch if you have any specific access requirements\, or need 
 more information about the content and delivery method of a specific wor
 kshop. We will do our best to ensure that you are able to attend. At the
  tutor’s discretion students who arrive more than five minutes late may 
 be directed to sign up to a future workshop.
