DESCRIPTION:It is easy to think about sustainability as achieving net-zer
 o emissions and indeed most UK HEIs have this within their strategic pla
 ns. But how do you look beyond net-zero to build sustainability into the
  heart of an institution\, something which guides every decision that th
 e organisation makes? What will it cover? Join this AHUA webinar to hear
  how three universities are integrating sustainability across the whole 
 organisation covering areas as broad as research\, the courses they teac
 h\, approaches to governance\, and the way they deliver services to staf
 f and students. Who is it for? This webinar is for AHUA members. It will
  also be of interest to university staff who would like to explore how t
 heir institutions can operate in a more sustainable way\, or who have di
 rect input into their organisation’s sustainability strategies and polic
 ies. Who will be speaking? Matt Dunlop Matt joined Newcastle University 
 in 2006 as an Assistant Energy Manager and his appointment effectively e
 stablished the University’s Sustainability Team. As Head of Sustainabili
 ty since 2009\, he now leads a team of eight sustainability professional
 s. Driven by the University’s core values of social and environmental ju
 stice\, he is responsible for the development and delivery of sustainabi
 lity strategy\, and is responsible for all aspects of environmental mana
 gement within the University. Managing a wide range of sustainability pr
 ogrammes\, including the University’s response to the climate emergency\
 , the Team are also involved in the delivery of the University’s environ
 mental education and research. Professor Jaime Toney Jaime is a Professo
 r in Environmental and Climate Science and Directs the Centre for Sustai
 nable Solutions at the University of Glasgow. She also co-chairs the Sus
 tainability Working Group. She recognises that collaboration and interdi
 sciplinary approaches are needed at all levels to make a transition to a
  sustainable future. In the university context she is keen to connect ac
 tivities across professional services\, academics and students to find n
 ew solutions to the climate crisis. Dr Alex Ryan Alex leads the Universi
 ty of Gloucestershire sustainability programme across corporate and acad
 emic portfolios\, to enhance institutional performance and student exper
 iences in sustainability. She is a member of the senior management team\
 , responsible for delivery of the Sustainability Strategy and Environmen
 tal Management System targets\, including the institution’s net zero car
 bon ambition. She has led a range of academic innovation projects to dri
 ve change in Education for Sustainability across the sector\, including 
 work with QAA\, AHE\, Funding Councils and a range of universities world
 wide. Alex is Director of RCE Severn – one of the Regional Centres of Ex
 pertise in Sustainability Education acknowledged by the United Nations U
 niversity. She has a multi-disciplinary academic background was awarded 
 National Teaching Fellowship in 2017 for her contribution to learning in
