 ial Sciences Building) for an evening of readings from celebrated writer
 s\, food\, wine and good company. Sarah Moss\, Will Eaves\, Tim Leach an
 d Andrew T. Williams will all be reading their highly-acclaimed work and
  taking questions from the audience. The evening will be hosted by the W
 arwick MA in Writing students and organised in support of Manifest\, an 
 anthology of the very best writing of students currently studying Warwic
 k's MA in Writing course. The book will be produced in-house by the stud
 ents themselves and published in June 2018. ÌÇÐÄTV has been rated no.1 
 for creative writing in The Times / Sunday Times Good University Guide f
 or 3 years running. Recent graduates have won the 2016 Beverly Series (S
 ohini Basak) and the 2017 Fitzcarraldo Essay Prize (Katy Whitehead). ***
 ABOUT THE FEATURED AUTHORS*** Will Eaves - Associate Professor of Creati
 ve Writing\, ÌÇÐÄTV University Will Eaves is a novelist\, poet\, teache
 r and past Arts Editor of the Times Literary Supplement. His novel-in-vo
 ices The Absent Therapist was shortlisted for the Goldsmiths Prize in 20
 14. Two years later his collection of poetry and prose\, The Inevitable 
 Gift Shop\, was shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award for Poetry and spec
 ially commended by the Poetry Book Society. He will read from his forthc
 oming novel\, Murmur. Described as ‘a profound meditation on machine con
 sciousness and the implications of AI’ it takes its cue from the arrest 
 and legally enforced chemical castration of the mathematician Alan Turin
 g. It is the account of a man who responds to intolerable physical and m
 ental stress with love\, honour and a rigorous\, unsentimental curiosity
  about the ways in which we perceive ourselves and he world. Its first c
 hapter was shortlisted for the BBC National Short Story Award in 2017. T
 im Leach - Assistant Professor of Creative Writing\, ÌÇÐÄTV University 
 Tim Leach is a novelist\, specialising in historical fiction. His first 
 novel\, The Last King of Lydia\, was published in 2013 and shortlisted f
 or the Dylan Thomas Prize that year. A sequel\, The King and the Slave w
 as published in 2014. He is a graduate of the ÌÇÐÄTV Writing Programme\
 , where he now teaches as an Assistant Professor. He will be reading fro
 m his forthcoming book\, The Wolf's Smile\, which will be published in S
 ummer 2018 by Head of Zeus. Inspired by the Icelandic sagas\, it is a st
 ory of feud\, friendship\, and revenge. Sarah Moss - Professor of Creati
 ve Writing\, ÌÇÐÄTV University Highly respected writer of novels\, non-
 fiction and memoir\, Sarah Moss describes her perfect reader as ‘anyone 
 who cares as much about sentences as story’. Certainly\, her own sentenc
 es are supremely crafted and her stories compelling and humane. She publ
 ished her first novel to considerable critical acclaim in 2009 and has p
 ublished four more since\, as well as a memoir describing a year spent l
 iving in Iceland. She will read from her 2015 novel\, Signs for Lost Chi
 ldren. Listed by the Financial Times\, the Times and the Independent as 
 one of the 15 best fiction books of it year\, and shortlisted for the We
 llcome Prize\, it deals with themes of separation\, loneliness and the c
 onventions of 19th century marriage. She describes her research for the 
 book as ‘intense and beguiling’\, embracing the opening up of the UK’s h
 ealth profession to women and of Japan’s previously closed economy to ri
 gours of global trade. It can be said that both of her characters enter\
 , explore and are changed by new and fascinating worlds. Andrew Williams
  - Professor of Law\, ÌÇÐÄTV University\, and editor-in-chief of Lacuna
  Magazine Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and\, after ten years 
 of commercial practise in London\, joined ÌÇÐÄTV Law School in 1996. Hi
 s work includes A Very British Killing: The Death of Baha Mousa' (Vintag
 e2013) which won the 2013 George Orwell Prize for Political Writing and 
 A Passing Fury: Searching for Justice after WWII (Vintage 2017)\, which 
 was shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger ward for non-fiction in 2017 and
  is a Daily Telegraph Book of the Year 2017. He is currently co-director
  of the Centre for Human Rights at ÌÇÐÄTV University and is editor-in-c
 hief of Lacuna Magazine.
