Congratulations to all our Centre for Lifelong Learning students achieving their awards this Summer. We are delighted to be celebrating your success with you, your friends and family. I want to thank you all for your commitment and contribution to our CLL community. It has been a privilege to see you all flourish and grow during your time with us. You have inspired us with your motivation and commitment to your studies during the most challenging of global circumstances and my colleagues and I wish you all well as you move on in your personal and professional lives – Congratulations.

Public and Community Engagement Staff Awards 2022: Celebrate the work from Mark Hinton

Our Community Engagement Development Manager Mark has won the Staff Awards for ��TV Awards for Public and Community Engagement 2022 for his great contribution towards engaging with local communities next door. Mark plays a key role in transforming the relationship between ��TV and our neighbours in Canley through a long targeted intervention he committed to in the past seven years.

CEIGHE graduate Laura Oxley wins the AGCAS John Roberts Memorial Award 2022

The winner for the Award was announced at the AGCAS Awards for Excellence 2022 presentation at the AGCAS Annual Conference on 22 June 2022. Laura Oxley was awarded due to her outstanding performance on her PG Diploma.

The 2021 National Student Survey has been the most valuable in recent years. It has given us, as a department, the chance to see what aspects of blended and online learning have worked for our cohort and where we need to work closer with our students to develop and improve. It has shown us the areas of academia our students truly value and how the ��TV experience should be working for them as mature students.

A graduation message from Associate Professor, Gill Frigerio

Graduation is one of my favourite events of the year – a chance to be part of some pomp and ceremony, see campus looking great and feed off the energy of relieved graduates and proud friends and family. Smiles a mile wide all round.

Of course in Covid times its not possible to gather in Butterworth Hall so in the Career Studies and Coaching team we have made a virtue out of a necessity and developed an online celebration. Its less hot and sweaty, and shorter, and we can also include those who have achieved Postgraduate awards, certificates and diplomas. (In our area these are our most common awards but formal graduation is for those with an MA only).

Last week we met online, played the ��TV anthem and watched a video of the gradation procession that had been recorded by somebody’s Dad in 2019 and uploaded to youtube. Each graduate was able to say a little about their course highlights and what they are taking forward, and we marked the transition from student to graduate. There wasn’t much pomp, but we did have some silly hats, part poppers, and a warm feeling of appreciation for all that students bring to the course.

So, well done to everyone who had an award confirmed by a recent exam board. Keep in touch and good luck for the future!
