Minor update to Regulation 34

On 18 February 2026, the Senate approved with immediate effect a minor amendment to Regulation 36: Student Registration, Attendance and Progress, 4.3. to update "the University’s Good Practice Guide on Monitoring Student Engagement and Progression" to "the University’s Student Engagement and Progress Monitoring Policy".

Minor update to Regulation 34

On 10 February 2026, the Senate approved with immediate effect a minor amendment to Regulation 34: Determination on Fitness to Practise, (2)(a) to reflect the change of name from Director of of the Centre for Teacher Education and Director of the Centre for Lifelong Learning to Head of the Centre for Teacher Education and Head of the Centre for Lifelong Learning respectively.

Updates to Regulation 34

On 28 January 2026, the Senate approved with immediate effect several minor amendments to Regulation 34: Determination of Fitness to Practise, following approval of changes to the Membership of the Fitness to Practise Panel (non-MBChB) for 2025-26 by the Quality and Standards Subcommittee.

The changes will be noted by the Council on 11 February 2026.

Minor update to Regulation 42

On 11 November 2025, the Senate approved with immediate effect a minor amendment to Regulation 42: Governing Academic Appeals, 5.3 to reflect the change of name from Faculty Education Committee to Faculty Education and Student Experience Committee.

The change will be noted by the Council on 11 February 2026.

Updates to Regulation 10

On 5 November 2025, the Senate approved with immediate effect several minor amendments to Regulation 10: Examination Regulations to reflect current practice and add reference to smart watches.

Updates to Ordinance 4.4

On 10 October 2025, the Council approved revisions to Ordinance 4.4: Powers of the Council with immediate effect, to demonstrate more clearly the powers and regulatory responsibilities of Council.

Update to Regulation 23

On 1 October 2025 the Senate approved with immediate effect an amendment to Regulation 23: Regulation Governing Student Misconduct and Student Misconduct Panels to reflect that the team name of "Human Resources" has been updated to "People Team".

Update to Regulation 23

On 25 June 2025 the Senate approved amendments to Regulation 23: Regulation Governing Student Misconduct and Disciplinary Committees, related to updating the names of the Discipline Committee and Student Discipline Appeals Committee to the Student Misconduct Panel and the Student Misconduct Appeals Panel respectively. These changes were made to the Regulation on 1 October 2025. The changes were noted by the Council on 9 July 2025.

Revisions to Ordinance 7

On 9 July 2025 the Council approved revisions to Ordinance 7: Academic Organisation, from 2025-26.

The revisions arose from the Review of Academic Governance undertaken through 2023/24 and 2024/25; the Council Effectiveness Review undertaken through 2023/24 and revisions to practice or terms of reference not yet reflected in Governing Instruments.

Updates to Regulations 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 15, 20, 34, 36, 37, 38, 41, 42 and 43

On 25 June 2025, the Senate approved amendments to Regulations 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 15, 20, 34, 36, 37, 38, 41, 42 and 43 to reflect the disestablishment of Faculty Boards from the 2025/26 academic year. Changes came into effect on 1 August 2025.

These changes were noted by the Council on 9 July 2025.
