Dr Erin Greaves (WMS) runs the Greaves Research Lab, which is dedicated to finding new ways to diagnose and treat endometriosis, a gynaecological disorder that affects approximately 190 million women worldwide. Dr Petra Hanson is an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Diabetes and Endocrinology at ��TV Medical School – who has recently been profiled in CATCH(Clinical Academic Training and Careers Hub)
She works clinically at University Hospitals Coventry and ��TVshire. Her main research interests are in metabolic medicine, type 2 diabetes, obesity, digital health tools, mindfulness and its clinical application for both patients and health care staff. She also hosts the ABCD Inspire Podcast series for the The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists. Watch her full interview here.

Congratulations to Dr Beck Taylor, who has been announced as a co-lead for a new £50m consortium which will research inequalities that expectant and new mothers face. The research carried out across the consortium will focus on inequalities before, during and after pregnancy, and will also focus on building capacity for further research to help improve services over time.

Russell Group assembles expert panel to advise on universities’ role in delivering Industrial Strategy

Vice-Chancellor Stuart Croft, will chair a new expert advisory panel formed by the Russell Group. The panel will develop strategies to boost the impact of UK universities in supporting the government’s Industrial Strategy. Comprised of business and academic leaders, the panel will provide recommendations to enhance collaboration between universities, government, and industry, driving economic growth and innovation.
