Supply Chain Innovation Forum: Building next generation of resilient and net-zero supply chains

The Productivity & Futures of Work GRP supported the Supply Chain Innovation Forum event 'Building next generation of resilient and net-zero supply chains'. This event was also supported by ��TV Manufacturing Group, ��TV ��TV School and the Institute for Global Sustainable Development.

The main focus of the event was on industrial practices and innovation, and the forum’s purpose is to offer innovative insights, engaging and inspiring talks, sharing knowledge and best practices to address key supply chain challenges across industries, networking and collaboration to support supply chain, procurement, sustainability, and logistics leaders.

AI in Healthcare: A closer look at Interdisciplinarity for Improved Innovation in Future Clinical and Work Practices

The event included presentations on key topics on AI in Healthcare, a Poster competition, a 'Pitch Your Concept' competition and stimulating discussions on ethical considerations of AI in healthcare.

The Productivity & the Futures of Work and Health GRP collaborated for a one-day workshop which brought together AI professionals, students and hobbyists from different disciplines to interact with clinicians and medical students from the ��TV Medical School in order to raise awareness and understanding of the issues at stake in the deployment of AI in healthcare and medicine.

Parent Carer Wellbeing Conference

The Parent Carer Wellbeing conference took place on 10^th May 2023 in Kentish Town, London. It was held in a Disability Centre called the Greenwood Centre with useful links to public transport.

Family carers were invited from across the UK and people reported travelling from as far as Liverpool and Bristol to attend the event.

Feedback was positive with 100% of respondents reporting that they would recommend this conference to family carers in the future.

Becoming a Global Compassionate Servant Leader - Alignment Between Productivity and Retention Levels

An operational excellence model in which the reduction of work-related stress and the enhancement of employee well-being are incorporated into the design of productive systems and organizations was developed by the Center for Advanced Systems Research and Education (CASRE) at the University of Tennessee. We believe it is necessary to change the mindset that either productivity wins or employee well-being wins. One of the essential steps in this process is to change the focus from the word "efficiency"—which is code for making people work faster or harder—to "reliability"—the design of systems that provide employees with all the resources to allow them to complete the assigned work. Our model—presented in four modules—transforms organizational productivity while simultaneously reducing employee effort and stress. The model is presented as the basis of global compassionate servant leadership since, besides all the technical components, it also includes factors that will increase the self-awareness of each individual and find a way to align the company's interests with individual personal aspirations.
