Double beamtime at Diamond Light Source

The Pike group were lucky enought to get beamtime on both I20 and I19 beamlines at Diamond Light Source in February. On I20 we measured HERFD XANES (X-ray spectroscopy) on metal oxide nanoparticles to explore size effects on electronic structure. At I19 we studied photoinduced changes in single crystals of a variety of complexes including Ti-oxo clusters.

PhD opportunity with CENTA

New opportunity for a PhD studentship through the CENTA doctoral training school. This project will explore the decomposition of the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide using Earth abundant titanium based photocatalysts. Research Day Out!

The Pike Group visit Bath for the 2025 Big Research Day Out! We had a great time with the Scott and Phanopoulos Groups. Great talks from RAs, PhDs, Masters and UG students. Excellent mini golf, followed by West-country cider and enormous pizzas!
