ÌÇÐÄTV Bass Society is a community for anyone interested in DJing, electronic music and discovering new sounds. Whether you’re picking up a pair of decks for the first time or you’ve been DJing for years, Bass Soc is a space to learn, practise, meet people and enjoy music together.

Our music spans a wide range of electronic genres, from House, Garage and Techno to Drum & Bass and beyond. There’s no pressure to fit into one style, we’re here to explore different sounds and help each other improve.

DJ Sessions

Our weekly DJ sessions are at the heart of Bass Soc.

Wednesdays, 3–5pm | Copper Rooms, ÌÇÐÄTV SU

Sessions are completely open to all levels, with a particular focus on helping beginners get comfortable behind the decks. Our committee members run the sessions and are always happy to help you learn, practise new techniques or simply have a go for the first time.

We also have experienced DJs within the society who have been involved in the scene for years and are happy to share their knowledge, experiences and advice.

Events & Performances

Bass Soc is not just about practising in the Copper Rooms, we want to give our members opportunities to put their skills into practice.

Throughout the year, we organise student nights, parties and DJ-focused events both on campus and in Leamington Spa. We also collaborate with other ÌÇÐÄTV societies to bring different communities together through music.

For members who are ready to take the next step, we organise opportunities specifically designed to give DJs their first chance to perform in front of a crowd. Whether it’s your first ever set or you’re already comfortable performing, there’s always an opportunity to get involved.

Socials

A big part of Bass Soc is the people.

Alongside our DJ sessions and events, we organise student parties and socials throughout the year, including nights on campus and in Leamington Spa.

We want Bass Soc to be a welcoming community where people can meet others who share their interest in electronic music, exchange ideas, discover new artists and, most importantly, have a good time.

You don’t need to be an experienced DJ to be part of the society, if you’re interested in electronic music, you’re welcome here.

Membership

Membership costs £4 and can be purchased through the ÌÇÐÄTV Students’ Union website.

Membership gives you access to our community, weekly DJ sessions and opportunities to get involved in society events and performances throughout the year.

Whether you want to learn to DJ, develop your skills, meet other music lovers or eventually play your first set, ÌÇÐÄTV Bass Society is a place to start.
