Although 1 in 10 students at ÌÇÐÄTV identify as being Muslim, this important group within our community experience barriers to their learning through current educational practices, environments and systems.

Join us for an engaging 1.5-hourMasterclassdesigned to equip those who teach or support students’ learning with the tools to create inclusive and supportive learning environments for Muslim students. Jointly led by Linta Nasim, a WIHEA Fellow and third-year Medical Student and Hafsah Ba, final-year Medical Student, alongside Emily Róisín Reid, Director of Student Experience, Employability, and Progression for ÌÇÐÄTV Medical School and alumni WIHEA Fellow, this session will explore practical strategies to better understand and address the unique challenges our Muslim students face in education.

Following the success of a series of student-led staff training sessions last year, this Masterclass offers a chance to build on that momentum, sharing key insights, resources, and a comprehensive toolkit to help make lasting improvements in the student experience. This session is for anyone involved in education or supporting students’ learning experience and students who may consider facilitating this in their own departments; this session will provide valuable knowledge and the opportunity to learn about facilitating positive change. We’ll also be offering the toolkit for you to use in your departments, as well as a follow-up student facilitator training to empower those interested in leading future discussions.
