A workshop that presents the main aspects of writing an abstract, as well as the common errors in conception and use, An abstract is a precise and concise overview of a larger piece of writing and is placed at the beginning of the article, essay or thesis it describes. It is often referred to as "summary" and even more often, it is misused in a variety of contexts to signify types of introductory writing which cannot, in fact, function as abstracts.
Abstracts give the essential elements of the finished project rather than going into detail, and describes rather than evaluates.

Research Life - a space to have casual conversations about balancing research and life and mastering the life of research. These sessions are an opportunity to meet & network with ÌÇÐÄTV PGRs and alumni and get a better idea of how to manage your Research Life.
Each month we have a different theme- so either book them all or choose the one that suits you best;
January 2023 - Winter Wellbeing
The winter months are here (if you are in the northern hemisphere!) and with them a few challenges might arise. How can we take care of our wellbeing and get the right balance to support our research and our state of mind during this time? This month we will be joined by our mental health & wellbeing specialist Dr Frane Vusio. So come join the conversation, get tips, share your thoughts and exchange ideas with your colleagues on how to stay well (and productive) this winter. |
