How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

We invite PGR students to take 30 minutes to join us for a walk, get some fresh air, connect with others and explore campus in a sociable and inclusive way.
All walks are guided by walk leaders.

Open Access is changing the face of academic publishing and is bringing opportunities and challenges to researchers in all disciplines. This session will give attendees a grounding in the mechanisms, variety, opportunity and pitfalls of open access, open data and related activities.


This session will be an overview of the current open access landscape and will cover routes to open access; benefits and requirements for open access; the issue of predatory publishers and how to find open access material for your research.

By the end of this session you will have:

· Been introduced to the concept of open access and the various routes to it

· Found out how to know if your funder has open access requirements you need to follow

· Discussed the issues surrounding ‘predatory’ publishers and how to protect yourself and your work

· Seen a hands on demonstration of the WRAP system and how to deposit your work with us
