Microsoft Teams
This session will provide those living internationally with opportunities to introduce the next possibility for communicating your research and work through the fundamental steps in achieving the highest quality possible. It will be led by early career researcher Dr Claire French (performance studies/ sociolinguistics) from her base in Australia. All sessions are on line in Microsoft Teams. Please book as usual on Skills Forge. We will add you to the event, and it will appear in your Teams calendar the day before. On the day/ time, just click on the link and it will take you in. Please mute your mic & close your video until asked to join in the group. Please make yourself familiar with the new Researcher On Line Team and the resources there. If you are new to Microsoft Teams you will find under the ‘Start Here’ channel information on how to navigate the system and hints. Please note we will send you the session link the day before ( it will also appear in your calendar) Public speaking can feel like a terrifying experience, even for those experienced in it. Successful presenters can hide and cope with this fear and by the end of this workshop, you should to. This workshop develops ways to appear confident in presentations as well attempting to reduce the concerns when you are up there in front of your audience. This workshop provides: · Advice on how to present a confidently through both your voice and body language. · The opportunity to practice your presentation style and to acknowledge and adapt to any weaknesses.
· The opportunity to voice any individual concerns and develop ways as a group to deal with them. Maximum 10 participants Please note that the 6th May event is between 2.00-4.00am GMT which is 9.00-11.00 am AWST and therefore most appropriate for colleagues in Far East and Australian zones All sessions are on line in Microsoft Teams. Looking to New Normal - Supervision OnlineYour supervisor can be the most valuable resource you have during your PhD. A mentor and advisor, help to manage your project and keep on track, and a sounding board for your new ideas and thoughts.
