This session will use Linda Tuhiwai Smith鈥檚 influential text Decolonizing methodologies: Research and Indigenous peoples (2nd edition) as a starting point for discussing how we might conceptualise and design our research in an increasingly decolonising academia.
The group will be asked to read the introduction and at least part of another chapter relevant to their research to share perspectives in particular relation to their current and future research methodologies.
It will be led by early career researcher Dr Claire French (performance studies/ sociolinguistics), drawing from her South African research from her base in Australia.
All sessions are delivered via the Researcher Development Online Teams site. Please book as usual via Skills Forge. We will send you the meeting link a day before. Please open the link in your calendar and scroll down until you find the meeting link. You will also see a Tiny URL in the SF descriptor which is a meeting link.
After 3 months of delivering online , tutors and PGR colleagues are recognising the value of being able see people in the sessions. We tend to be small groups so we ask people to have their videos on if people are able and willing to.
Any questions please contact the RD tutor team in RDContacts@warwick.ac.uk
