This session focuses on the development and use of Data Management Plans (DMPs).
Research Data Management (RDM) is important for the success of a research project and is becoming increasingly important with major funding bodies, including UKRI, the Wellcome Trust and Horizon 2020. This session will include what a plan needs to contain, a look at some sample DMPs from a selection of Research Councils and a demonstration of the Digital Curation Centre鈥檚 DMP Online service. While suitable for any type of research this session will emphasise data types commonly generated in arts research, and the new AHRC requirements.
Who is it for?
Research Active Staff (research, academic or teaching terms and conditions of employment) and PhD students, particularly those in the Faculty of Arts.
Session Objectives:
By the end of the session attendees will gain a greater understanding of RDM as well as learning how to create Data Management Plans for research projects and discovering where to find help if needed.
