Designed for Postgraduate Researchers

This highly interactive workshop will cover techniques to delivering effective presentations, in order to create a positive impact, capture and keep your audience's attention. You will have the opportunity to deliver a three minute presentation and receive feedback on it. Please bring with you notes on an area of your choice. (This could be your research, a hobby, a sporting activity鈥our choice). Before you present you will have the time to re-write and practise.

The workshop will look at:

  • how to overcome nerves to project confidently
  • how to use body language and voice to create a positive impact
  • recognising distracting mannerisms and how to eliminate them
  • how to prepare a structured presentation designed to engage an audience
  • how to feel comfortable answering audience questions
  • understanding why delivering key messages is important

All RSSP sessions are active, interactive, involve individual and group discussions; and are supported by key pedagogical best practise and coaching theory. Be prepared to contribute to your own and your colleagues learning and development.
