This activity includes the following sessions:
- Looking at the Barry Flannigan sculpture of the Hare acrobats, use charcoal to do drawings of the sculpture, choosing different angles and perspectives, several quick sketches and changing positions/viewpoints several times.
- Recycling a plastic bottle to make a self-watering planter for your windowsill, to grow spinach, lambs lettuce, or herbs. (Bring along an old 1.25L-2L plastic bottle, if you have one ready to recycle).
- Wandering through campus on a trail, discovering sculptures you may not have seen before. Leave your own land art for others to find… leaf circles and patterns, stick stacks and woven ‘nests’ miniature stone circles etc…
- Visit the Barry Flannagan sculpture and make your own sculpture of a hare.
- Collecting wheelbarrows of autumn leaves to turn into leaf mulch and a spot of relaxed weeding.
- Taking a tea light candle on a trail of discovering tree spells and messages. Leaving our own messages and spells in the trees.
- Clearing out our beds outside and in our polytunnel, ready for the winter, and possibly planting some autumn-growing vegetables too!
- Making seed bombs out of clay, soil, and wildflower seeds that can be dried out and later used for a small bit of ‘guerrilla gardening’.
Session order will depend on the weather and how the seasons change this year.
