This session aims to help you understand the pressures that PGRs face during their postgraduate education and the risks that these pressures pose to their mental health and wellbeing. This session will also provide you with information on how you can support PGR mental health and wellbeing and understand the difference between urgent and non-urgent mental health. You will also have an opportunity to share your experiences with other PGRs and learn about what available support exists at the university level and beyond. In addition, this session will encourage you to think about your mental health and wellbeing. By the end of the session, you will be able to recognise signs of mild, moderate and severe student mental health difficulties, when a student is at risk or experiencing a mental health crisis, and what steps you can do to help and support PGRs around you. It is crucial to remember that mental health crises can be avoided and prevented through early intervention.
