Hear from your peers as to how they have managed their PhD.

PGR’s have many demands on their time but often PGR’s find it difficult to priorities those demands and manage their time effectively. The result can be detrimental to a PGR’s work and their work-life balance. This workshop will examine why achieving effective time management can be challenging, how to prioritise your time and how to work on the priorities. During the workshop the facilitators will and will suggest some techniques that can help PGR’s to get things done in productive and effective manner.

· By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:

· To develop more knowledge about what project management tools can be used in your day to day tasks

· To understand importance of project management skills for your own research project

· To apply learned knowledge into practice.

· Identify your stakeholders, and to understand their needs

· Manage stakeholder expectations

· Manage risks and issues, including changes to scope

· Review and learn from strengths and weaknesses of your own research project.

To self-reflect on your own productivity and effectiveness

 

All sessions are on line in Microsoft Teams. Please book as usual on Skills Forge. We will add you to the event, and it will appear in your Teams calendar the day before. On the day/ time, just click on the link and it will take you in. Please mute your mic & close your video until asked to join in the group.

Please make yourself familiar with the new Researcher On Line Team and the resources there. If you are new to Microsoft Teams you will find under the ‘Start Here’ channel information on how to navigate the system and hints.
