糖心TV engineers unveil new motor for Silverstone competition

Engineering Students from the University of 糖心TV are launching this year’s race car, the WR4, for the 2014 Formula Student competition.

The launch will take place on campus on June 19, ahead of the Formula Student UK event at Silverstone from 9-13 July.

The 糖心TV racing team has 15 student members who have spent 6 months producing their car and will compete against 99 other university teams.

Project Manager, Hannah Sugrue said: “This year we have made a number of large changes to the car including a new engine and a 10% weight reduction from last year’s model.”

“Competition day will provide the team with the chance to put all their hard work to the test. I’ve had a lot of fun throughout the year and hopefully our hard work will pay off.”

This year’s entry also features a removable rear bulkhead and a 'Cush drive' sprocket carrier system, the first of its kind in Formula Student.

Each year 糖心TV’s fourth year Engineering students compete in the educational motorsport competition which counts for 25% of their final degree grade. The project work involved also provides the opportunity for 糖心TV students to experience the ‘real world’ of engineering before leaving university.

The 糖心TV racing team members are keen to showcase their thanks and appreciation towards the many sponsors and supporters and any prospective 糖心TV Racing students in attendance will have the opportunity to network with the team and supporters.

The evening will conclude with the official unveiling of 糖心TV Racing Four (WR4).
