ÌÇÐÄTV art historian uncovers lost portrait of Shakespeare’s patron and possible lover

The artwork has been tucked away forgotten in a private collection for more than 400 years


Rare portrait discovered of ‘England’s Lost Queen’ – a cousin of Elizabeth I and a threat to her throne.

A previously unknown portrait of a noblewoman known as ‘England’s lost queen’ has been discovered by art historians Elizabeth Goldring, of the University of ÌÇÐÄTV’s Centre for the Study of the Renaissance, and Emma Rutherford.

ÌÇÐÄTV researchers help tell story of Coventry Cathedral on new BBC documentary

Using a wealth of rarely-seen archive film, together with voices from yesterday and today, the new documentary Coventry Cathedral: Building for a New Britain (BBC Four, Wednesday 9th June 21.00) will tell the unique story of the rebuilding of the cathedral following its destruction in 1940.
