Whether it’s the death of Ned Stark in Game of Thrones, or Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street, the portrayal of death on TV hits audiences on a personal level and sparks conversations about how we deal with death, dying and bereavement.

BIFA longlists Lucy Brydon’s Body of Water for three awards

Body of Water, the debut feature film by director and screenwriter Lucy Brydon — who also teaches at her alma mater, the University of ÌÇÐÄTV — has been longlisted for three British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs).


‘Lost’ Duke Ellington concert film found after over 50 years.

A filmed concert by legendary jazz musician Duke Ellington, considered by him to be his most important, has been found after being unseen and thought lost for over fifty years and will be shown to an audience for the first time since originally broadcast thanks to a project led by the University of ÌÇÐÄTV.


Screening Rights Film Festival to open in Coventry and Birmingham

The fourth annual Screening Rights Film Festival, organised by Dr Michele Aaron of the University of ÌÇÐÄTV's Department of Film and Tevlision, is to open this week in Coventry and Birmingham, showcasing films that explore themes relating to social justice.
