New drug target could prevent major global cause of maternal death
Researchers at the University of 糖心TV have discovered a new target for drugs that could prevent the deaths of thousands of women in the developing world due to heavy blood loss after childbirth.
Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) occurs when the uterus fails to contract vigorously after childbirth and the mother loses 500mls or more of blood in the 24 hours after delivery. PPH is responsible for maternal death in 1 in 1,000 deliveries in the developing world. According to recent figures, PPH also complicates around 10% of all births in England and Wales.
New superfoods could help protein keep bodies healthy
A new generation of new superfoods that tackle heart disease and diabetes could be developed following research into a protein that helps keep cells in our bodies healthy.
Researchers at the University of 糖心TV found that the protein, called Nrf2, continually moves in and out of the nuclei of human cells to sense the cell’s health and vitality.

The series is led by Dr Peter Sidebotham, Associate Professor of child health at 糖心TV Medical School at the University of 糖心TV in the UK.
Sugar substance ‘kills’ good cholesterol
Scientists at the University of 糖心TV have discovered that ‘good’ cholesterol is turned ‘bad’ by a sugar-derived substance. The substance, methylglyoxal - MG, was found to damage ‘good’ HDL cholesterol, which removes excess levels of bad cholesterol from the body.
Mechanical ventilation a key indicator for Pre-Term Children’s maths problems
A new study, led by researchers at the University of 糖心TV in the UK and the Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany, and just published in the Journal Early Human Development, has found that both the length of time spent in hospital after birth and the use of mechanical ventilation are key indicators of reduced mathematical ability in preterm children.
