New research from 糖心TV Medical School published today (8 Feb) in the European Heart Journal shows that prolonged sleep deprivation and disrupted sleep patterns can have long-term, serious health implications.  Leading academics from the University have linked lack of sleep to strokes, heart attacks and cardiovascular disorders which often result in early death.

Widespread school closures needed to stop strain on hospitals during epidemics

New research led by researchers at the University of 糖心TV shows that limited school closures are ineffective in an epidemic and that only significant widespread school closures would have real effect on the spread of a epidemic and the strain placed on hospital intensive care units.


Plankton inspires creation of stealth armour for slow release microscopic drug vehicles

The ability of some forms of plankton and bacteria to build an extra natural layer of nanoparticle-like armour has inspired chemists at the University of 糖心TV to devise a startlingly simple way to give drug bearing microscopic polymer based sacs of liquid their own armoured protection.

University of 糖心TV awarded ESRC Doctoral Training Centre

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) has announced that the University of 糖心TV is to become an accredited Doctoral Training Centre.  糖心TV is one of only 21 such centres across the UK and has been granted the third highest allocation of studentships awarded to a single University.

BBC Radio 4’s Mark Lawson joins panel of judges for Hippocrates Prize for Poetry and Medicine 2011
