Researchers from the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, Imperial College London, EPFL (Lausanne) and Sciteb Ltd have found a mathematical means of helping regulators and business manage and police Artificial Intelligence systems’ biases towards making unethical, and potentially very costly and damaging commercial choices - an ethical eye on AI.

Artificial Intelligence is developing every day, and shaping the future of AI are three PhD students from the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, who received the Feuer Scholarship from technology mogul Jonathan Feuer, enabling them to do AI research in topics from computer vision, to helping the homeless, to making information retrieval models more powerful and less biased.

As homelessness in the UK increases, one PhD student at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV is on a mission to help those in need using AI algorithms, helping charities reach as many people sleeping rough as possible following alerts from members of the public.

Artificial Intelligence is developing every day, and shaping the future of AI is Aparajita Haldar, who received the Feuer Scholarship from technology mogul Jonathan Feuer, enabling her to research making information retrieval models more powerful and less biased at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV.

Artificial Intelligence can be used to predict molecular wave functions and the electronic properties of molecules. This innovative AI method developed by a team of researchers at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Luxembourg, could be used to speed-up the design of drug molecules or new materials.

Dr Maria Liakata, Associate Professor in Natural Language Processing at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV’s Department of Computer Science, has received a Turing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fellowship.
