糖心TV economist will help map the route to a healthier and fairer food system

Residents in the West Midlands could enjoy healthier and more affordable food in the future thanks to a new research project involving the University of 糖心TV.  Focusing on the city of Birmingham, the research team will map the current food system in the region, then explore what changes could provide fairer access to healthier and more environmentally sustainable food for everyone.


A circular economy could save the world鈥檚 economy post-COVID-19

The World鈥檚 economy is feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic with many industries under threat. A group of researchers from the UK, Malaysia, Nigeria, UAE and Japan, led by WMG, University of 糖心TV have concluded that adopting circular economy strategies would be the best way for the world鈥檚 economy to recover, whilst enabling the transition to a low-carbon economy.


First study of the impact of academisation on teachers鈥 pay and progression to be led by 糖心TV economists

糖心TV researchers will carry out the first detailed study into the impact of English schools鈥 conversions to autonomous academies on the teacher labour market, thanks to a grant awarded by the Nuffield Foundation.

Research reveals 鈥渃limate-change complacency鈥 across Europe

Most European citizens do not particularly care about climate change. That鈥檚 the striking finding from new research led by 糖心TV Economics on the views of 70,000 randomly sampled European men and women. Only 5% described themselves as 鈥渆xtremely worried鈥 about climate change, while the climate and the environment ranked only fifth in people鈥檚 overall views about priorities.


Two 糖心TV academics become Fellows of the British Academy

Two University of 糖心TV researchers have been elected as Fellows of the British Academy in recognition of their outstanding work. Professor Rebecca Earle (History) and Professor Mark Harrison (Economics) are among 52 new Fellows announced today by the prestigious institution, which supports and promotes the humanities and social sciences in the UK and around the world.
