A new coalition of more than 500 scientists from around the world, including the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, has been created to share data on COVID-19 gleaned from the use of mass spectrometry techniques which examine people’s blood and other biomarkers.

The UK Public want the NHS to be the controlling body in Covid-19 contact-tracing app – says new research

The public have massive trust in the NHS, with over half (57.4%) of participants in the study favouring prioritising controlling the pandemic over privacy, they also argue the NHS should have control and access to data in the Covid-19 contact-tracing app, new research by researchers in WMG at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, and at the University of Birmingham have found.

New e-book highlights the economic factors influencing the outcome of World War II

A new e-book co-edited by award-winning economic historian Professor Mark Harrison of ÌÇÐÄTV Economics and CAGE has been published in the week of the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe. The book aims to provide new insight into the significant and sometimes overlooked role that economists played in shaping the conduct of the war and its ultimate outcome.

In a further contribution to the debate about how to balance the need to re-open the economy with the need to protect life, ÌÇÐÄTV researchers Andrew Oswald and Nick Powdthavee point out the extreme dangers from any general kind of release from lockdown and present more detailed modelling on the fatality risks faced by different age groups. 


ÌÇÐÄTV Engineering Professor works with Association of British Chinese Professors to buy PPE equipment for 10 UK hospitals

Professor Jihong Wang, from the School of Engineering at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, has been working with the , where she is Vice President for Finance, to raise funds to purchase personal protection equipment (PPE) for ten UK hospitals to support the NHS in its response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
