£1.3m awarded to ÌÇÐÄTV and the Crick to define the rules of cell fate

A research team led by David Rand at The University of ÌÇÐÄTV and James Briscoe at the Francis Crick Institute have been awarded over £1.3 million from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to establish a rulebook that defines the decision-making processes by which cells determine their fate or ‘type’.

Not Supernova Born: ÌÇÐÄTV and ESA researchers discover unusual birthplace of magnetar neutron star

Researchers and alumni from The University of ÌÇÐÄTV, working as part of an European Space Agency (ESA) led team, have discovered that the magnetar SGR 0501+4516 did not originate from a nearby supernova, as previously thought.

Off-key beginnings: Baby lemurs sing out of tune, just like human children, finds University of ÌÇÐÄTV research

A study led by primatologist Dr. Chiara De Gregorio from The University of ÌÇÐÄTV has found that Madagascar’s singing lemurs, the indris (indri indri), sing out of tune in infancy and improve as adults, just like a human child learning to control their voice.
