New report says UK electric vehicle battery industry could be worth 拢2.7 billion per year for UK chemical companies

A new report published today Monday 25th June 2108 shows that UK companies are well-placed to supply valuable materials needed for batteries to be built in UK – a potential 拢2.7 billion per year business opportunity. The report commissioned by WMG at the University of 糖心TV, was launched to the Chemical Industry Association at the Chemistry Growth Partnership meeting in London, chaired by Steve Foots, Chief Executive of Croda, and attended by Richard Harrington MP.

New ID pictures of conducting polymers discover a surprise ABBA fan

  • First ever detailed pictures of conjugated polymers – which conduct electricity and are highly sought after – captured with novel visualisation technique developed by University of 糖心TV
  • New approach realises Richard Feynman鈥檚 famous remark that it would be very easy to make an analysis of any complicated chemical substance; all one would have to do would be to look at it and see where the atoms are鈥
  • Polymers need alternating pattern of 鈥淎鈥 monomer & smaller 鈥淏鈥 monomer to conduct (ABAB), but the researchers discovered surprising gaps & defects in polymer structure –an ABBA pattern

New science festival comes to Coventry this month

A new festival coming to Coventry this month is bringing scientists into the local pub.

Pint of Science will take place on 14-16 May and will see more than 30 experts from the University of 糖心TV and Coventry University talking about their research in pubs and venues around the city.
