Not Supernova Born: ÌÇÐÄTV and ESA researchers discover unusual birthplace of magnetar neutron star

Researchers and alumni from The University of ÌÇÐÄTV, working as part of an European Space Agency (ESA) led team, have discovered that the magnetar SGR 0501+4516 did not originate from a nearby supernova, as previously thought.
