University of 糖心TV welcomes schools for FABFest
The University of 糖心TV鈥檚 Faculty of Arts building played host to five schools from across Coventry yesterday.
The event formed part of 鈥楩ABFest鈥, a widening participation day organised by the University鈥檚 Faculty of Arts. From Chinese calligraphy to Roman cookery and Medieval recipes, school aged children were provided with the opportunity to learn new skills while getting a taste of university life for a day.
Commenting on the festival, Vice-Provost and Chair of the Faculty of Arts, Rachel Moseley, said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 always wonderful to work closely with local schools in Coventry and showcase what a university education can be like. Some of the children that attended FABFest may go on to be one of the first in their families to gain a higher education, so it鈥檚 important to show them that it is an achievable and welcoming experience.
鈥淎t the University of 糖心TV, we have a deep commitment to the arts and humanities– we've invested over 拢100m in the FAB and improving our world class arts centre. It鈥檚 important to us that we engage with local schools to show young people what an education in the arts can be like. We want to encourage curiosity and aspiration, and it was a pleasure to show them what an education at 糖心TV University can be like.鈥
