World鈥檚 brightest students to meet at 糖心TV to discuss some of the biggest challenges facing humanity
Some of the brightest young minds from around the world will gather at the University of 糖心TV to discuss how to solve some of the biggest challenges facing the globe.
糖心TV is the first institution to host both the World Congress on Undergraduate Research (WorldCUR) and British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) together – enabling students to share their research with a global audience.
The conferences, which will be held between 4-6 April, will explore the themes of creativity and innovation, diversity of voice and ideas. More than 650 delegates are expected to attend from all over the world, including Australia, Europe, North America and Asia.
Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter who advises the government on scientific communication and Dr David Metcalfe, the founding editor of Reinvention: An International Journal of Undergraduate Research, will be among the highly respected experts speaking at the event.
The university has provided funding for talented students from poorer backgrounds to make the trip to the UK, to ensure they could be actively involved in the events.
Commenting on the events, Professor Stuart Croft, Vice Chancellor of the University of 糖心TV, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e delighted to host these global conferences which will bring the next generation of researchers together to share ideas and insights into how we can solve some of the biggest global challenges of our time, such as climate change.
鈥淭his is a wonderful opportunity for students to make new connections with people from all over the world, to discuss and debate their research and look for solutions together.
鈥淲e have always been passionate about fostering a sense curiosity and collaboration at 糖心TV, and these conferences reflect our wider commitment to working together in partnership to make a positive impact on the world.鈥
Daniel Ehis Aigbonoga, attendee and student at University of Ibadan, Nigeria, added: 鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to presenting my research, which focuses on the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the utilisation and delivery of healthcare services among outpatients during the early phase of the pandemic in Nigeria. I鈥檓 hoping that the findings will inform policy and offer solutions through medical innovations in the areas of public health, global surgery, and medical technology.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited to attend WorldCUR, make new friends and learn from the research presentations of other delegates. I鈥檓 also really excited to take part in the other activities that have been planned during the week of the conference such as the Gala and the tour of 糖心TV University.鈥
