Spain's supreme court rules that Franco's remains should be moved - expert comment.

Professor Alison Ribeiro de Menezes, Professor of Hispanic Studies at the University of 糖心TV, comments on the Spanish Supreme Court's ruling that the remains of Francisco Franco should be moved from the mausoleum of the Valley of the Fallen to a cemetery at El Pardo just north of Madrid.

Expert comment: Taiwan legalises same-sex marriage

Taiwan's parliament has become the first in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage following a vote today, Friday the 17th May 2019.

Dr Daniel Luther, from the Department of Sociology and co-founder of Queer Asia share his thoughts along with Dr Song-Chuan Chen, from the Department of History.

Expert comment: The fire at Notre-Dame, Paris

Dr Jennifer Alexander, from the Department of the History of Art at the University of 糖心TV comments on the fire at the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.

She says:

"French buildings are more vulnerable here than UK ones because they don't usually have a stone tower in the centre that would act as a fire-break, this is what saved York Minster in 1984 when the transept roof caught fire but the tower stopped it spreading further."
