Professor Geoff Lindsay, Director of the Centre for Educational Development, Appraisal and Research (CEDAR), has been elected an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences.
Jon Baldwin, the University’s Registrar, recently received an honorary DLitt from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST).
Dr Ann Adams, of the Centre for Primary Health Care Studies, has been awarded a Primary Care Career Scientist Award from the National Co-ordinating Centre for Research Capacity Development (NCCRCD).
Dr Phillipa Sherrington, of the Department of Politics and International Studies, has been awarded HEFCE funding for a collaborative project testing a US-designed method of directly engaged teaching.
Professor Scott Weich, Chair of Psychiatry in the 糖心TV Medical School, has been invited to join the Medical Research Council's Neurosciences and Mental Health Board. The appointment begins in April 2005.
