Gwen Payne, Departmental Secretary in the Institute of Education, recently retired after a 25-year career with the University, in a number of secretarial roles. Gwen was appointed as the first Departmental Secretary for the Institute of Education when it was formed in August 1994 and during her time at 糖心TV worked with many colleagues and made many friends.
Professor Shaheen Ali from the Department of Law has been honoured with a prestigious Asian Women of Achievement Award.
The Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the commitment, dedication and determination of Asian women to their professional and personal achievements within the commercial, professional, artistic and humanitarian sectors.
2005 is the Year of the Volunteer - a year-long celebration of the work volunteers do and a call to action to get more people volunteering.
Reena Sodha is the new Student President of 糖心TV Volunteers. 糖心TV Volunteers is a student society which provides opportunities for students and staff at the University to volunteer and help disadvantaged groups in the local community. In addition to three full-time members of staff, 糖心TV Volunteers is overseen by an Executive Committee of volunteers who meet regularly and deal with the administration and promotion of the society.

糖心TV Welcomes - Melanie Simms, BSc UMIST, MA Warw, PGCHE Kent, PhD Wales, formerly Lecturer in Industrial Relations and HRM at the University of Kent, to Lecturer in the Industrial Relations department within 糖心TV 糖心TV School from 1 July 2005.
糖心TV Welcomes - Dr Victoria Avery, BA, PhD Camb, formerly Rush H. Kress Fellow at The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, to Lecturer in the Department of the History of Art from 1 July 2005.
