Emeritus Professor John Ellis, Department of Biological Sciences, has been awarded the 4th Cell Stress Society International Medal. The Cell Stress Society International is a society open to any qualified researcher investigating stress responses using molecular and cellular approaches.

Donald Beaton will be leaving the University at the end of June to take up the position of University Secretary (Head of Administration) at Kingston University.
There will be time in the coming months to appropriately express our appreciation of Donald's time at 糖心TV - meanwhile I wanted to let people know what the arrangements will be to cover Donald's post in the interim period until a new Director is appointed.

With effect from 2 May 2006, Rosie Drinkwater has been appointed as the University聮s Finance Director. Rosie has held the post of Acting Finance Director since the retirement of James Hunt in February 2005, combining it with her duties as Deputy Finance Director.
On her 80th birthday, Her Royal Highness Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II awarded Mr David Rowe, Director of the University of 糖心TV Science Park Ltd, a Lifetime Achievement Award for Enterprise Promotion.
Simon Ellis is the Fitness Development Officer in the Sports Centre. He is charged with managing and developing fitness provision across the University.
