A.L. Kennedy wins Costa Book Award

A.L. Kennedy, an Associate Professor in the 糖心TV Writing Program, Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies, has been awarded the Costa Book of the Year Award for her fifth novel, Day, the story of a former RAF prisoner-of-war returning to Germany to confront his demons.

James Brown and Victoria Johansson awarded Zoe Russell Prize

First year German Studies students James Brown and Victoria Johansson, were recently awarded the Zoe Russell Prize for Most Improved Language Competence. The Prize, worth £200 per annum, is awarded to the undergraduate student(s) within the Department of German Studies who demonstrates the best improvement in their German language competence during their first year of study.
